I am a 24 year old virgin. Big deal! What does virginity have to do with a relationship with Christ or being a business owner? Newsflash: It has a lot to do with it.
Virginity aside, sexual purity as a Christian is a major factor in your success in entrepreneurship and in being with Christ. Abstaining as a single woman in Christ can either make or break you in nearly every facet of your life. Aside from unwanted pregnancies, STDs, and broken heartedness, the spiritual consequences such as soul ties, separation from God, and even death are well known. However, a few of the benefits that I have experienced as being a virgin are as follows:
Honoring and Worshiping with my Body
There is no greater feeling than honoring God with your body, soul, and spirit. Often time, many Christians make singing praise and worship songs synonymous with worship. While this may be true, the ultimate worship is obedience. God loves when we honor our bodies as temples because it is a sign that the Holy Spirit dwells in us (1 Corinthians 6:19). The more that I know about Christ, the more that I respect myself as a single woman and have Him direct me, hence deepening our relationship.
Ability to Focus on the Things of God
As an unmarried woman, it is my duty to focus on the things of God (1 Corinthians 7:32-24). After I graduated, God dropped the vision in me to start my company and to use my gift of writing to help others find employment. Two years later, I am influencing others and writing to assist God’s people in getting careers that they want! The point here is that I was able to hear God and focus on doing His work. Once I become married (and lose my virginity), my main focus will then be on my husband.
Being Open to Anything That I Request and More!
Going back to obedience, if I ask ANYTHING according to God’s will, it will be granted without a doubt (John 14:13-14). They may not be granted when I would like, how I would like, or where I would like, but it will come to pass. But, that is only if I am obedient! Great things that have not entered into the hearts of men lie in my path if I am simply abstinent. If I request a six figure income business, a steady inflow of clients, and 12 speaking engagements per quarter, I can claim it if it is what God wants for me.
In conclusion, staying away from sexual sin is hard, I know. However, with the strength of God and tangible accountability (1 Corinthians 10:13), it is possible. But just look at how much you could gain by sacrificing a small aspect of your life! Comment your thoughts below!
